Filomena Gregorash, President

Filomena is a Supervisor of Customer Care at Tbaytel; previously she worked as a Social Worker for St. Josephs Care Group and Ontario Works. Filomena holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lakehead University and a Social Work Diploma from Confederation College. She has volunteered at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) and St. Joseph's Hospital.  Fil sits on the Quality and Patient Safety Committee for TBRHSC.

Heather Gray, Vice President

Recently retired as Director of Health System Design and Development at the North West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), Heather has worked in a variety of clinical, administrative and educational positions across Northwestern Ontario. She has undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Nursing; a Masters degree in Adult Education and a certificate in Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Engagement. Heather served on the Northern Health Information Partnership Board for several years.

Tom Forsythe, Secretary/Treasurer

Tom works for the City of Thunder Bay as Supervisor of Parks Operations (South). His past Board experience includes Director and Executive Member, including President, of the Atlantic Golf Superintendents Association.  Tom has served as City Liaison with numerous local organizations, including City Golf Club Associations and the Chippewa Park Carousel Restoration Committee.  He chaired the Mayor's Mulligan Golf Tournament Organizing Committee from 2005-2017.

Andre Korstanje, Past President

Andre is a retired Minister with the Free Methodist Church in Canada, and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and a Masters in Divinity. In the past, he has served on the Alzheimer Society Board of Directors and the Regional Multifaith Council. Andre also works as an on-call Spiritual Care Associate at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Brenda Coopman, Director

Brenda worked in Thunder Bay's education sector as a high school teacher for many years, prior to her retirement.  She currently serves on the Advisory Board of St. John's Anglican Church. In the past, Brenda has volunteered as an exemplary ambassador on behalf of the United Way Thunder Bay, as a Board Director, an Allocations Committee member, and a member of the Campaign Team.  Her passions also extend to the Thunder Bay Food Bank and the Regional Food Distribution Association of Northwestern Ontario.

Valerie Luck, Director

Valerie works as a Service Advisor at Tbaytel Customer Care Contact Centre. Her past board experience includes being the Regional Coordinator for Special Olympics and Easter Seals Parade of Stars Fashion Show Coordinator.

Margie Rondeau, Director

Margie works for the North Superior Counselling Program as a Children's Intake and Counsellor; she is a graduate of the Social Work Program at Confederation College. Currently Margie is the Vice President & Co-Founder of the Greenstone Harvest Centre. Her past Board experience includes President of Greenstone Women's Hockey, and Geraldton Minor Hockey Executive; Margie has served as a volunteer with the Geraldton District Hospital Auxiliary and St. Theresa's Parish Catholic Women's League.

Michael Scarcello, Director

An Emergency Room Registered Nurse for over 18 years, Dr. Michael Scarcello is a faculty member and Program Coordinator for the Practical Nursing and Personal Support Worker Programs for both Thunder Bay and regional campuses of Confederation College.  He considers nursing and nursing education his calling.  Michael obtained both his Doctoral degree and his Masters of Nursing degree from Saint Scholastica (Duluth, MN).  He has served on several workplace and professional (nursing) committees, both locally and provincially, including Negahneewin Education Circle, which is a cross-college committee that addresses operational priorities of Indigenous education and training.
