Wesway values the trust placed in us by the families we serve.  Wesway respects the personal privacy of families, and safeguards the confidentiality and security of all personal information.

 

Access to Personal Health Information by Participant/Family Caregiver(s)

Participants/family caregivers have a right to access their record of Personal Health Information.

Accuracy of Personal Health Information

Wesway takes reasonable steps to ensure that all personal health information is accurate, complete and up-to-date, as necessary for the purposes for which the information is collected, used, maintained and/or disclosed.

Disclosure of Personal Health Information

To ensure quality respite care and to foster a responsive range of services and supports for families, Wesway may disclose personal health information to other services/people involved in the “Circle of Care”.  Wesway’s disclosure of personal health information complies with the provisions of the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).

Privacy Complaint Process

Individuals have the right to make a complaint concerning Wesway’s privacy of health information practices.

All personal health information is kept confidential and secure, and complies with the provisions of the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). Security practices protect information against loss or theft, and any unauthorized access, use, disclosure, copying, or modification.
