New CEO Announcement

On behalf of Wesway's Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Lisi as Wesway's new Chief Executive Officer. Jason will officially begin on October 1, 2026, with our current CEO, Dana MacMillan, supporting a three-month transition period.

Jason grew up in Thunder Bay and has a deep appreciation of the strengths and distinct needs of the communities Wesway serves. He also understands first-hand the difference respite can make for caregivers and families. Jason is an experienced executive leader with more than 20 years of experience across public, educational, and community-focused organizations. Known for his collaborative, thoughtful, and people-centred approach, he has built his career around bringing people together, strengthening organizations, and creating inclusive environments where people feel respected, supported, and empowered.

Most recently, Jason served as University Secretary at Lakehead University, where he was part of the executive leadership team and provided governance, policy, compliance, and accountability advice to the President, Board of Governors, Senate, Ogimaawin Indigenous Education Council, and senior leaders. Previously, he held several senior leadership roles at Toronto Metropolitan University, including Executive Director of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.

Jason brings extensive experience in strategic planning, Board governance, financial and operational leadership, labour relations, organizational change, and community partnerships. His leadership is grounded in listening, relationship-building, accountability, and working closely with those most affected by the decisions being made.

Jason holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Western University, a Master of Education, and an Honours Bachelor of Technology. He is honoured to join Wesway and looks forward to building on its strong legacy and helping shape its next chapter.

As we welcome Jason, we also want to extend our deepest gratitude to our outgoing CEO, Dana MacMillan, for her many years of dedicated leadership. Dana will officially retire on December 31, 2026. We wish her every happiness in her retirement and thank her for her tremendous contributions to Wesway.
